Lisa Winbourn, functional nutritionist
Hi, I'm Lisa

I've been where you are. Now I help women heal.

I'm Lisa Winbourn, a functional nutritionist with a degree in Chemistry & Biochemistry. I use my chemistry background and functional-nutrition training to help women with fatty liver, gallbladder issues, and MTHFR restore their metabolism, improve digestion, and finally feel like themselves again.

My story

A few years ago, I was exhausted and burnt out — fatty liver, gallbladder sludge, bloating, brain fog, waking at 3 a.m., and 25 pounds that wouldn't budge no matter what I tried.

I was doing everything I thought was right, and my body still wasn't responding. I knew something deeper was going on.

With a degree in chemistry & biochemistry, I did the one thing that came naturally: I went looking for the underrlying mechanism. The deeper I got into functional nutrition, the clearer it became that my liver sat at the center of all of it — quietly running my digestion, bile flow, blood sugar, hormones, and energy. Add in nutrient gaps, chronic stress, and an MTHFR variation, and the whole system had slowed to a crawl.

What stunned me was how few people were talking about it. So I stopped chasing one symptom at a time and started supporting my body at the root.

And my body finally responded:

  • Dissolved my bile sludge — and saved my gallbladder
  • Digestion that worked again
  • Lost 25 pounds
  • Energy back, all day long

Today, at 47, I feel better than I ever have — with the energy and joy I had as a kid.

That journey — and years of helping thousands of women just like me — became the foundation of the Gentle Burn Blueprint™. Now it's my mission to help women stop fighting their bodies and start working with them.

What I specialize in

I help women with

  • Fatty liver
  • Gallbladder issues
  • Post-gallbladder weight gain
  • Digestive issues
  • Low energy
  • MTHFR gene variations
  • Metabolic dysfunction

So they can

  • Improve digestion
  • Support liver health
  • Restore metabolism
  • Lose weight naturally
  • Feel good in their bodies again

My approach

I created this work so you don't have to keep guessing, start over again and again, wonder what's missing, or feel stuck in your body.

Instead, you'll learn how to support the systems that drive metabolism, digestion, energy, and long-term health. Because when the liver, digestion, and nutrient pathways are supported properly, everything works better.

Start with the liver

Your liver runs your metabolism, hormones, and digestion. Support the root there, and the symptoms downstream finally have a reason to settle.

Nourishment instead of restriction

You don't heal a body by starving it. We rebuild a positive relationship with food — feeding your metabolism, not punishing it.

Science, not fear

No cleanses, no panic, no supplement rabbit holes. Just what the research supports, explained in plain language you can act on.

Built for your body

Fatty liver, life without a gallbladder, an MTHFR variant — your body has specific needs. The plan should fit them, not fight them.

A few questions women ask

What is a functional nutritionist?

Functional nutrition looks for the root cause behind your symptoms — like an overloaded liver or poor bile flow — instead of treating each symptom in isolation. I bring a chemistry and biochemistry background to it, so the advice is grounded in how your body actually works.

Did you have your gallbladder removed?

No — I actually dissolved my bile sludge and saved my gallbladder. That's a big part of why I understand how to help women who have had theirs removed, too: it all comes back to bile flow and supporting the liver.

Do you give medical advice?

No. I teach nutrition and lifestyle education, not medical treatment, and I always encourage you to work with your own doctor. What I offer is the explanation and the practical plan most women are never given.

Why do you focus so much on the liver?

Because it quietly runs your metabolism, hormones, and digestion. When it's overloaded, no diet fixes the real problem. Support the liver first and the rest tends to follow.

Let me show you the first step.

You don't have to figure this out alone, and you don't need another restrictive diet. Tell me what you're dealing with and start where it actually matters.
